Who I am

More than just a Marketer, I'm a storyteller at heart, championing success and tailoring messages to meet the consumer where they are.

What excites me most is the place where strategy meets proof: building a campaign narrative and then using data to show whether it actually worked.

Effectiveness is the most underrated word in marketing. Anyone can launch something. The skill is knowing if it landed, and why.

Why Japanese? - Global Perspective

My second degree in Japanese wasn't a detour, it was the soul of my studies.

Studying a language spoken natively by 0.2% of people in the US forced me to think deeply about how meaning is built, how context shapes perception, and how badly communication falls apart when you assume everyone is decoding your message the same way. Those are marketing problems at their core.

That cross-cultural perspective shapes how I approach brand work. One size does not fit all. Every consumer is going to decode your message through their own lens, and the best marketers don't assume they know better than the people they're trying to reach.

I've been to Japan three times — once as part of a business-focused study abroad exploring how Japanese firms think about competition, legacy, and long-term brand vision; once to live and work in Tokyo as a digital marketing intern where I redesigned bilingual websites for a B2B consulting firm helping international companies build relationships in Japan; and once for full-immersion language study in Osaka.

Each trip has compounded my belief that understanding a market requires you to actually be in it. You do, in fact, have to eat at the unmarked café with the Japanese-only menu, and you must have the conversation in broken sentences and still connect, in order to notice the things a spreadsheet would never show you.

Off the Clock

Outside of work, I shoot portraits of friends and family. I love giving people a photo of themselves they actually like that highlights and reflects the beauty the world sees in them.

I dabble in graphic design, and play tennis in good weather.
